The Friends of the Yorba Linda Public Library is a non-profit support group whose purpose is to cultivate a closer relationship between the community and the Yorba Linda Public Library to promote knowledge of Yorba Linda Public Library services and resources and to provide financial support and volunteer assistance for library programs that serve the entire community and all age groups.
The organization was founded and chartered over to support the services that the Library wanted to offer. We continue in their footsteps as we support our award winning Yorba Linda Public Library in its new home.
It is our pleasure to provide funds for programs offered to all ages (toddlers to senior citizens). Those programs continued during the pandemic serving the community and its residents and neighbors as we transitioned into our new book store, The Book Corner, now located on the “corner” of the new library building. Now we anticipate a return to full program schedules and lots of happy faces as we enjoy the opportunities to grow our own interests and those of our entire community.
Most notable programs have returned or will soon return. They include: “award winning” weekly story time experiences for pre-school children, first library visits for many of the children from the Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District, weekly Teen events and the Teen Advisory Board, as well as adult programs for a wide range of interests across the community. Programs such as Star Wars Day and the Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Festival provide lots of fun for Yorba Linda and the surrounding communities.
The Friends of the Yorba Linda Public Library continues to support and reflect just how much the Yorba Linda Community values its library and the programs and services it offers. We, The Friends, are the conduit for community contributions to the Yorba Linda Public Library. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit California corporation, all membership dues, and other contributions or donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donations of cash and books and the patronage of those who visit and purchase materials from our Book Corner are greatly appreciated.
